A Lasting Partnership with Design: Plumbline and Interior of the Year

For more than 35 years, Plumbline has worked alongside New Zealand architects, interior designers and specifiers, helping bring thoughtful residential and commercial spaces to life. As a longstanding supporter of Interior of the Year, the New Zealand-owned company sees the programme as an opportunity to recognise excellence, champion innovation and celebrate the people shaping the future of interior architecture and design in Aotearoa.

For more than 35 years, Plumbline has worked alongside New Zealand architects, interior designers and specifiers, supporting projects with architectural bathroom products, technical expertise and specification guidance. Over that time, we’ve evolved from a product supplier into a trusted design partner, helping bring thoughtful residential and commercial spaces to life.

You have been supporting the Interior of the Year awards for a number of years now; what does it mean for Plumbline to get behind this programme?

Supporting the design community has always been central to who we are, and today that commitment continues through our investment in product innovation, local manufacturing and industry relationships.

As a New Zealand-owned company that has a strong presence in Aotearoa, and notably a recent expansion in Australia, what does this mean when it comes to setting you apart?

What sets Plumbline apart is our ability to offer architects and designers a complete collection of premium bathware from a single trusted source. Our in-house product design team works closely with leading international manufacturing partners, alongside our growing New Zealand manufacturing capability, to create products that balance design, quality and functionality. As we expand into Australia, we’re also bringing this same perspective along with our New Zealand heritage to a wider audience.

Are there any recent milestones or news from Plumbline that you’d like the industry to know about?

The recent opening of our Melbourne showroom marks an exciting new chapter for Plumbline, as well as the opening of Plumbline Manufacturing, which has expanded our ability to deliver a wider range of bathroom furniture. Together, these milestones reflect our ongoing commitment to considered design, craftsmanship and supporting the architectural community.

What are some of the recent highlights from the Plumbline team in terms of what you’ve been delivering and achieving?

Recent highlights for the Plumbline team include a stronger, more considered approach to our New Zealand heritage, drawing inspiration from the elemental beauty of Aotearoa. This shift is shaping both the products we deliver and the way we work, resulting in a more intentional design direction.

We’ve also been focused on growth and brand evolution, including the opening of our Melbourne showroom, which marks an important step in expanding our presence across Australasia. Alongside this, the launch of the Milazzo range designed by Greg Natale has been a standout, bringing a bold yet refined design perspective to our offering.
