Flexform’s latest collection, revealed as part of the brand’s exhibition during Milan Design Week, The Private Lives of Objects, explores how individual pieces do more than simply occupy space — rather, they act as silent witnesses to daily ritual; repositories of memory, accompanying our lives with grace and discretion.
It was, undoubtedly, Antonio Citterio’s latest work that articulated this concept most exceptionally. The Quincy Sofa leaves behind rigid geometry, instead tracing an organic line, redefining the living space with a strong sense of identity. Sinuous curves alternate with more linear sections, while softened corners create an inviting appeal. The one-piece structure forms a continuous, enveloping shell, encouraging a sense of intimacy and togetherness.
The Justine Armchair is a tribute to the purity of design. Here, design rejects ornamentation, becoming architecture itself. A cylindrical upholstered backrest of rigour and softness meets a skillfully handcrafted solid wood base that anchors the piece in space, lending warmth and solidity.
Flexform is available exclusively in New Zealand from Studio Italia.
