On Thursday 30 July, more than 400 architects, designers, industry partners and friends gathered beneath the Dome at Auckland Museum to celebrate the very best of New Zealand interiors at the 2026 Interior of the Year Awards.
Across ten categories, this year’s awards recognised projects that exemplify the depth of talent, ingenuity and craftsmanship shaping New Zealand’s design industry. Congratulations to every finalist, highly commended project and category winner whose work continues to advance the practice of interior architecture and design across Aotearoa.
A special congratulations goes to Material Creative for Sherwood Residence which was named Interior of the Year 2026 — a project that embodies the creativity, confidence and international calibre of contemporary New Zealand design.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us on the night.
