Sculpted piles, intricate weaves, and richly tactile surfaces bring a new material dimension to BAYA’s summer collection, carrying the warmth and texture of the interior into outdoor spaces.
In New Zealand, the home rarely stops at the back door. For much of the year, daily life flows onto sunlit decks, into leafy courtyards, and beneath sheltering terraces, where meals linger into the evening and outdoor spaces become part of the rhythm of home.
BAYA’s latest collection responds with a distinctly tactile sensibility, bringing depth, softness, and material interest to spaces both inside and out.
Texture takes centre stage. Handwoven accents, sculpted piles, and intricately crafted surfaces give rugs a more dimensional character, reflecting a broader shift away from pared-back minimalism towards interiors with greater warmth and material richness.
That sensibility extends outdoors, where BAYA has expanded its range of rugs crafted from 100% recycled PET. Two new constructions arrive for summer: a bouclé-inspired weave and a cut-and-loop pile, introducing the depth and tactility associated with interior textiles in forms designed for life outside.
The palette gains depth, too. New shades of Claret and Chocolate introduce rich, earthy notes, complementing the collection’s existing colours and bringing warmth to both interior and exterior settings.
