Spacebar Design was established with a clear vision: to design and create beautiful furniture and cabinetry with the entire life cycle in mind.
“Sustainability and aesthetic craftsmanship are at the core of our business,” says co-founder Anson Kong. “We use sustainable processes and prioritise eco-friendly production to minimise our environmental impact whilst maintaining a strong emphasis on aesthetic craftsmanship.”
Each creation is sculpted from materials selected for their enduring strength and ability to be maintained, reused, refurbished, or recycled when their story ends. At this point in the life cycle, Spacebar Design has introduced a take-back programme to divert its products from landfill. This philosophy, as Anson explains, sparks fresh ideas in both materials and design, bringing sustainable creativity full circle.
A modular sensibility guides each design, allowing furniture and cabinetry to move seamlessly through different spaces and adapt as life shifts. The UD. Modular System embodies this idea — robust, repairable, and endlessly adaptable.
This thoughtful approach extends to cabinetry, where each commission is customised from first sketch to final detail. Spacebar Design weaves together traditional craft and a contemporary sensibility, creating kitchens that balance function, form, and the nuances of daily living. Cabinets are imagined to be flexible and responsive, evolving gently alongside the shifting patterns of modern life.
The result is beautiful cabinetry and furniture designed to endure and evolve across generations, and cost less over time.
