Set the Tone with Jardin

Colour shapes the presence of furnishings outdoors. It anchors a space, setting the atmosphere and grounding it in its surroundings. A single tone can lend warmth to a courtyard, soften the lines of a façade, or sharpen the view against garden green. Outside, colour is less about contrast and more about the subtle ways it transforms experience.

The Bellevie lounge collection in Candied Orange brings warmth and sociability, its sunlit tone complementing the surrounding palette.

“Outdoor spaces in New Zealand are increasingly becoming places of expression,” says Joanna Rogers, owner of Jardin. “People are embracing colour in a way that feels personal — creating spaces that invite relaxation and reflect how they want to live and spend time.”

Jardin’s Fermob collection speaks fluently in this visual language. The forms are pared back, allowing colour to lead. Each piece sits in dialogue with surrounding materials and light, creating a cohesive and characterful whole.

Fermob’s Luxembourg setting in Maya Blue stands out against stone, greenery, and classic architecture, its bold tone anchoring the scene.

Outdoors, colour reveals its nuance. Warm tones glow in sunlight, lending ease to gathering spaces. Cooler hues settle quietly against greenery, bringing definition and stillness. In both, the atmosphere is at the forefront.

“Colour has the ability to completely change the atmosphere of an outdoor setting,” Joanna adds. “It can feel warm and enveloping, or fresh and energising — and that flexibility is what creates such a powerful design element.”

This approach to outdoor living shapes spaces that feel joyful, expressive, and personal.

Fermob is available in New Zealand exclusively from Jardin.
